Tuffing Gessling didn’t set out to be famous. He just did what he always did – distracted maddened bulls to keep them from trampling or goring cowboys who had just gotten thrown from them. He did another thing that rodeo clowns have always done – he made fun of the current White House occupant. In Gessling’s case, this meant donning an Obama mask. He couldn’t have anticipated the reaction from “tolerant” Progressives, who were appalled that someone had dared to mock the first black president simply by donning the same mask children all over America have worn on Halloween for the last several years. Not only was Gessling publicly pilloried in every major media outlet, he was banned from the Missouri State Fair rodeo for life. Last Friday night, at the Jaycee fairgrounds in Jefferson City, Missouri, Gessling made his first appearance since the professional race-baiters tried to destroy his livelihood. According to Gessling, this was his first job in a thirty-four days. Usually, he has a job every weekend. It wasn’t just lost work and media outrage, though, that plagued Gessling. At the Jaycee fairgrounds, though, everyone was pleased to see Gessling back at work. Several fans showed up wearing shirts tying together Gessling and the first amendment: ‘We believe in Tuffy Gessling and the first amendment.” As part of his performance, every time a political joke was made, Gessling apologized and said he was just kidding. The crowd loved it, laughing and applauding every time he made his appearance. (Read More: College Conservative Slams Liberals For Being Hypocritical Clowns.) Gessling’s manager still can’t believe that it’s come to this. “I rode bulls forever, and not just in Missouri, it’s all across the United States, California, Texas, New Mexico, everywhere you go they have masks of presidents out there in the arena usually,” Isaiah Dunn said. “And it’s the oldest skit in the book, you can pull it up on the internet and you’ll find old videos of guys doing it with Nixon and Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush Senior, all of the presidents.”
