Tuks Confession 3409: Hey friends. Not be ignorant but our SRC, does it do anything? And Im not being a prick, they all always look competent. But is there anything that they actually can do? They talk about us having a say in the fees we pay but none of them are ever specific. Besides the res traditions thing, there hasnt been anything else the majority of students has complained about. There was a lowering of food prices 2 years ago which the SRC claimed to have made happen but even then to me it looked like it was just a decision made by tuks management with no influence whatsoever from the src. Also this res traditions cancellation thing, I dont see how it can be stopped. 2011 spring bash cancellation proved that tuks doesnt give a crap about the SRC. So at the end of the day the SRC is just there to do paper work and choose who to give bursaries (I hear they do that), no leadership skills required. So why waste so much money, time and effort on electing them? And again, Im not saying they are incompetent, just there is nothing the university will let them do. Sorry for the terrible grammar.
