Tulsa received two of these in March, 1948. They were driven by TFD personnel from the plant in Elmira, NY to Tulsa. Soon after the journey began the air pressure was lowered in the tires to make the trucks ride better. All 12 tires were damaged by the time the trip was over and had to be replaced at the citys expense. Later in life their booster tanks were enlarged to 300 gallons. The sirens were moved to a position on the roof, just behind the Propello Ray light. Tulsa, OK - Engine 5 1948 American Lafrance #L-3416 (or 3417) 750/150 - Gas/manual (factory photo)
