Tune for the Day (Tuesday) - yesterday the Stones, today The Beatles. Like the Stones, I got to hear the Beatles through my next oldest brother, who owned the two greatest hits albums of theirs; the red one (1962 - 66) & the blue one (1967 - 70). Unlike the Stones, where I never got much further than singles collections (e.g. `Rolled Gold`), I turned into a right Beatles nut at the age of 10 (or thereabouts), bringing out my nerdy, obsessive, completist hoarding tendencies (... which are lingering on to this day!). Within a short time I had all their 200+ songs on records. To be truthful, the Beatles brought out a few crap tunes ; `Ob-La-Di,Ob-La-Da` & `Yellow Submarine` were little more than nursery rhymes; Paul McCartney was always a bit twee & Ringo wasn`t known for his creative prowess (- mind you, that still left George Harrison & John Lennon) Initially I was more into the early, straightforward pop songs : `Help`, `A Hard Days Night`, while later on - up to this day - it would be `A Day In The Life` or much of the stuff from the `White Album`. So for today`s choice I will choose from one of the songs I liked initially, that still appeal to this day, though that still leaves a large choice ; `Paperback Writer`, `Get Back`, `Day Tripper`, `Back in the USSR`, `Drive My Car`, `Rocky Racoon`, `The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill`, ... the list goes on. Hey why not stick with the lsast one, as one of the lesser known Beatles songs https://youtube/watch?v=AW4MnJM1sL8
