Tune in Sunday afternoon at 1pm Eastern to Taking the Hill on MSNBC for the ninth chapter of Wounded: The Battle Back Home, featuring Dennis Cabanting. Army veteran Dennis was deployed in Iraq for a month when his transportation unit was hit with an insurgent improvised explosive device. Following the attack, Dennis suffered bouts of memory loss, dizziness, and severe headaches that he hid from commanding officers out of fear that he would be discharged. He later saw a doctor once the symptoms became impossible to ignore and was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Doctors also found signs of multiple sclerosis, which Dennis feels was triggered by the TBI. Wounded: The Battle Back Home follows Dennis in the days leading up to his 40th birthday as he prepares for a large party welcoming the community of supporters that have helped him in his flight to slow the debilitating effects of multiple sclerosis.
