Turkey Bowl 2013 How will it be Set up Each team will arrive between 9:00am and 9:15am At 9:15 Each Team will vote on every team (expect theirs) on scale of 1-10 on how good overall they think each other are. Seeding will be done based on the sum of these numbers- Obviously the highest to lowest. This will be put into a double elimination tournament bracket and that will be the structure to determining the champion. The Championship game will be single Elimination (NO BEATING TWICE) Winner of the Championship game is Champion. We will Start Playing at 9:30am Game Play – PAY ATTENTION IT IS DIFFERENT The Playing area will be split up into 4 fields running across the entire Football Field. (Goal-line to 25 Yard line, 25 to 50 Yard Line on both sides “Football Field Sidelines will be ENDZONES”) The field will be 53 and 1/3 Yards Long and 25 Feet Wide. Each Playing area will be marked. THIS IS 5 on 5 There will be a center line painted across the middle of each playing area, this is the first down line. You will have 4 downs to get past this line and if you do you will have 4 downs to score. *The WHOLE BALL Must cross the line to get a first down, so any diving for a first down must result in the entire ball getting past the line. Any close call disputes that cannot be resolved will result in a replay of pervious down 5 Yards from the line. Giving both the offense a chance to get the desired first down and the defense room to defend, making it as equal for both sides as possible. At the beginning of a possession the ball will start at the Goal Line. QB RUN – The Quarterback CAN RUN but ONLY when blitzed. However he cannot proceed past the first down line when behind it but can run for a touchdown when on opponent’s side of the field. Because this is such an advantage to the quarterback the will be a loss of down if he chooses to run. Example Quarterback runs on a first down and is tacked short of the first down line or end zone the next play is 3rd down. If attempted on 3rd down and short it is a turnover on downs – Unless the play reaches the first down line or end zone. There is no loss of down if there a first down is achieved. If the Quarterback reaches the first down the ball will be placed on the center line and it will be first down. ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK BLITZES – ONE blitz every 4 downs – Use them wisely. A blitz is a blitz as soon as the defender crosses the line of scrimmage under his own will. If player is thrown passed by the other team he will have a chance to recover and either attempt the blitz of back off back passed the line of scrimmage in coverage. Game Time Games will be Played to 8 win By 2 Straight to 11.Games will also have time restrictions So that we may finish the tournament before 1pm. 4 -6 Teams Games will be 40 Minutes Max Time. 7 – 12 Teams Games will be 30 Minutes max Time. Games that are tied after regulation with go to a sudden death off a coin flip over time. First to Score Next Wins. Ball will start at First Down Line. Each team will be told when there is 5 Minutes left. Any Team Believe to be “excessively delaying the game” on purposed as judged by teams not participating will result in a loss of down 1st warning and a Turnover if told a second time. With the ball going to the opposite team at the first down line. WE ARE HERE TO HAVE FUN KEEP PLAYING. ANYTHING ADDITIONAL WE WILL DECIDE AS A GROUP BEFORE THE GAMES START.
