Turkey Inflation Quickens More-Than-Expected In Aug Turkeys consumer prices rose more than expected in August, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, or TurkStat, showed Wednesday. Annual consumer prices inflation quickened to 9.54 percent in August from 9.32 percent in July. This was faster than the 9.36 percent inflation rate expected by economists. On a month-over-month basis consumer prices rose 0.09 percent, defying economists expectations for a 0.1 percent drop. A separate report from TurkStat showed that, producer prices grew 9.88 percent in August following the 9.46 percent rise in July. Compared to the previous month, producer prices rose 0.42 percent.
