Turning Point Today The worst of all forms of blindness is the spiritual blindness. Prophet Hosea calls it lack of knowledge in Hosea 4:6. God created the earth, but kept some things hidden so that man can make use of his own sense of sight to discover them. Unfortunately, many people walk past opportunities, objects, events but cannot see them. Jeremiah 5:21 says, you foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear’. A man once stood on a soap-box at Hyde Park corner in London and was casting aspersions on Christian faith thus: ‘People tell me that God exists, but I cannot see Him. People tell me that there is life after death; but I cannot see it. People tell me that there is a judgment to come, but I cannot see it. People tell me that there is a heaven and a hell, but I cannot see them’. Another man struggled on to the same soap-box and said: ‘people tell me there is green grass all around, but I cannot see it’. People tell me there is a blue sky above, but I cannot see it. People tell me there are trees around nearby, but I cannot see them. You see I am blind. Now, can you bring out anything from the confessions of these two persons story? The second man was right. He was physically blind, but his words proved that the first man was also blind. But one blindness was worse than the other. The greatest blindness is spiritual blindness. A physically blind person can achieve, and succeed but to be spiritually blind is to be a complete liability. In life, you can only go as far as you can see, and perceive. Neither God nor any man can help a person whose mind is blind. This is the foundation of all forms of limitation, so; determine that you must see farther than you do now. You must know more than you knew yesterday, as a professional, a pastor, civil servant, a lecturer and so on. May your eyes of understanding be opened in Jesus name. See you on top!
