Turning The Tables on The Enemy Part V. by Dr. Noah Manyika We turn the tables on the enemy when we are strong in the Lord and in the power of His might as Ephesians 6:10-11 admonishes us to be. We must be able to stand, not simply so we can be counted among the believers, but so we can fight, or stand against the wiles or tricks of the enemy. By the way, the devil is not as stupid as popular evangelists would have you believe, at least not according to my Bible. Genesis 3:1 makes it clear that he is a cunning and crafty foe. He would not be able to lead the whole world astray, which he does according to Revelation 12:9, if he did not have a deadly arsenal of tricks with which to deceive. We are not at war against a joker, but against a deadly trickster whose methods we must not only know, but be in a position to counter with everything that we have. He loves nothing more than to be underestimated by Gods children. We cannot assume that he cannot tell when we are half-equipped for battle, or when we treat a fight with him as a war game that can only hurt our pride. Satan is in this battle to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10) and he will pull every trick in his arsenal to win. So put on the whole armor, not your denominational version of it, not the parts of the armor that makes you look good or convinces your friends you have not become a Jesus fanatic.
