Turning to God Do not judge and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. When things in my life go wrong, I turn to God. He is the source of my strength. I wish I could say everything goes my way all the time, but that would not be true. God is my light in a dark world. Recently, I was deceived by someone. This was not the first time, and I am sure it won’t be the last. I find strength and love in my heavenly Father. He has told me to find forgiveness in my heart for this person. Through forgiveness I have always been able to find freedom and joy. Why do I want revenge when I am cheated and deceived? I go to my Father, and he says in the Bible that he will forgive me as I forgive others. It is tough sometimes to forgive, but I am a disciple of Jesus, who forgave his murderers and torturers. I must find that same forgiveness. While Stephen was being stoned to death, he asked God to forgive his killers. I find examples of forgiveness throughout the Bible. If there is to be vengeance, it is God’s vengeance, not mine. I have suggested some ideas for vengeance, and God says, “Be still.” By turning to God, who takes my burdens, tells me to be still, and answers prayer, I have found peace. I simply need to take the steps necessary to remedy the situation and leave all the results in God’s hands. I need to understand that I am dealing with people that God loves and I should love. I am also called to love my enemy. Maturing is tough stuff, but by turning to God, I find peace and assurance that all is well in the world and learn to count my blessings. I can’t dwell on one situation. My blessings are many. Forgiveness has been granted. God has forgiven me much. I have only a little to forgive in comparison. God Bless Ken Jones
