Turning your pen drive into virtual RAM With the launch of Windows 7, there came a new feature called Ready Boost. It is a disk cache component of Microsoft Windows NT. Ready Boost can speed up the system by using storage space on most of the USB flash drive(local name- pen drive), flash memory, SD card, CompactFlash or any other kind of portable mass storage drives as a RAM. There was a talk in the air all around that How can the system use pen drive as RAM..?? Earlier, whenever anyone wants to increase the RAM, he had to add extra RAM to the system. RAM stands for Random Access Memory, which is responsible for maintaining the computer speed. Note: Ready Boost can be used in Windows Vista onwards like Windows 7,Windows 8.. There are some simple steps by which you can use Ready Boost: 1.First of all plug your pen drive into your computer/laptop 2.A dialogue box will appear named Autoplay. Under the general options, click on Speed up my system csstuff/turning-your-pen-drive-into-virtual-ram/
