Turns out the the demonstration at the Klamath Falls Walmart was attended by a couple employees, with the rest being members of various activist groups, such as $15 Now, Change Walmart, and Southern Oregon Jobs with Justice. Basically, they are professional protesters who are bussed in to spew activist talking points and carry professionally printed signs to try to stir up local communities. Todays big protest consisted of about a dozen people according to NewsWatch 12. In the KDRV report, Jennifer Sanchez was identified as an 11-year employee who makes over $14 an hour. Not bad for Klamath Falls. Notice the wide shot of the tiny group of people -- its pathetically hilarious. I drove through the Walmart parking lot on the way home from work and there was no sign of any protest or problems... and Walmart seemed to be operating normally. I guess the minute the TV cameras left, the professional protesters like bugs.
