Tusker Project Fame – Scintillating but Bankrupt of Talents In a few weeks time, the magnificent Tusker Project Fame (TPF) will be back in our screens. With close to twenty million viewers, we can say for sure that, this is one of the most preeminent television shows in the country. From the panel of adjudicators like the tougher judge, all the way to the selection of imminent singers, everyone can concur with me that TPF is absolutely superlative. Undoubtedly, its presenters are unsurpassed. Their scintillating manner of conducting the show is unrivalled and above par. Interestingly, if asked about Judge Ian, some says he is the most excellent in the world. Others may refer to him as the nastiest man alive. However, that will depend on the person who the question is directed to. But, as one of my favorite Gusii proverb tells me, “Even the King’s anus, has some odor/smell” meaning nothing is perfect. Ever since its inception, TPF has never produced any outstanding artiste. I do not want to risk being misconstrued by anyone, but I want to articulate clearly that Kenya is one of the countries that are bankrupt of talented musicians. Most absurdly, their system of singing is evidently pathetic. The lyrics in their songs are pitiable. Instead of singing some sense into people’s hearts via hears, the Noninis and the Prezzos of this world are busily singing absolutely zilch/nothing. Just to confirm that I am in my rightful compos mentis, I kindly wish to approve of the few excellent ones available. Nameless and Red-sun are good examples of the top cream musicians in this country. TPF will never produce any consistent or dependable musician. The chosen few who fortuitously make it to the academy in Ruaraka cannot even regurgitate the commonest songs unfalteringly. Look at the past winners of the project for instance; one might think that they died instantly after winning the jackpot. Where is Alpha, what about Davies, where is Davies, what about the recent winner of the just concluded TPF, has anyone seen or heard from her, I am talking about Ruth Matete. That is why I will always attest decisively and determinedly, that Tusker Project Fame is a waste of both time and resources. Lastly, I wish to cement my sentiments by borrowing the words of wisdom by an English writer Aldous Huxley "Experience is not what happens to a man. It is what a man does with what happens to him."
