Twas on this day in 1949 that Christopher Guy Luke was given life. I know three things about my birthday: firstly, I was two weeks late, secondly, it was raining (as it appears to have done for much of the birthdays over my life), thirdly, my mother always referred to the fact that when her waters broke, they were sufficient to fill a medium sized tin bath! Now you must understand that this latter piece of unwanted information was forever trotted out whenever I brought a new girlfriend home and thereafter why they promptly left me, I suspect. So thank you Mary Edith Ada Luke for giving me Life. I have made it to the age of 65 despite my best efforts to depart this mortal coil prematurely, a hedonistic life lived on the full and sometimes very near the edge. I look forward to more of the same. Heh! :-)
