Twas the night before Christmas, And all through Yallourn - TopicsExpress

Twas the night before Christmas, And all through Yallourn North, A few chooks had escaped, And even a horse! Monash Hall was decorated, Like never before. And the festivities within, Were not described as a bore. The residents were smug knowing things have begun, With visions of the new year and things to get done. And YNAG man in 2D, had made his appearance, At trivia and Pool parties, but yet at a dance. When out of left field there appeared such new fortune, We sprang from our slumber, To the wind was our caution. Away with the past, we threw to the bin, Well not of our history, we love you Museum. The school at its best with the new-rising youths, Gave hope for the new year. No more polling booths! When, what to our wondering eyes should appear, But markets with castles and tvs full of air! With a few little elves, so lively and quick, Pulled off a great fanfare, and some terracotta bricks. More rapid than eagles. The suggestions they came. We want more events! Lets list them by name: Come swap meet! Come railway! Come plant displays and races! On Boot sale, On Garage Sale On markets. Invade us! From the corner of school, To the top of Reserve Street. More stalls our way, stalls our way, More markets for all! As old tales before us, our memories do die, They meet with new possibilities, arrived at the nigh. So up to the challenge, the Rock Chuckers flew, With a bundle of energy, And some positivity too. We saw with a clinking, the mail man at the road With a colourful newsletter, to lighten our load. As we read with great joy, all the things that had come. Playgroup of the year! To all you well done! And a new lawn mower for cricket, to mow our great pitch. And a decorated bus stop, for our gardening itch. A bundle of wins, from a year of success, And weve only just begun, so there is not time to rest. Our eyes they did twinkle, as old fences came down. And Wikipedia went up. Enlightening old frowns. Our droll little progress, ended with a great bang. As more families flocked in, to carols as they sang! And tree stumps were removed, that had been there for years, As people watched on, with their Facebooking ears. One thousand plus likes, achieved on the screen, With a massive photo gallery. Our town does it gleam. The bank chubby and plump, full of photos of self, All uploaded to the net, by some active YNAG elf. And a calendar for the year, for 2015. And people wanting orders for 2016!! We spoke many words, but also did we toil, New cricket nets went up, on the center town soil. And lets not forget, those in firemans clothes, Who kept us protected from behind those great hoses. They sprang to the truck, in our hour of need, Selfless and gallant, on their mechanical steed. But then we saw Santa, as it drove out of sight. Have a lolly kids. Merry Christmas! Good night! ------- Merry Christmas everyone. And all the best for the New Year! YN.
