‘Twas the night dive before Christmas And all through the reef Not a creature was stirring, most were asleep. The corrals were all hungry with polyps like hairs Hoping that some plankton soon would be theirs. Parrot Fish were snuggled in their mucus sacks Hoping that this would prevent deadly night attacks. Up on the surface their came quite a call It’s the dive boat tying up to the site mooring ball. Divers with BC’s tanks, mask and fins Step off the boat to go for a swim. With flashlights ablaze they descend through the dark Knowing SAC rates will climb if they should see a shark. The dive master directs them on which way to go Hoping to see some crustaceans you know. 40 minutes later, we sit on the sand, All in a circle, with flashlights in hand. Switch off our lights, waive our arms, and what should appear, Why bioluminescence of course, and strings of pearls I cheer. The dive is over we ascend to the surface, Climb on the boat, it is quite a circus. As we stand on the stern what does appear, A miniature sleigh with eight tiny reindeer. It streaks through the sky so fast and alive. I hear, Merry Christmas to all who dare to night dive. Written by Peter N ~ScubaCentral
