Twelve Years a Slave… The criticisms are few. The ending is happier than I wish it was from a narrative standpoint. I know this is what really happened but still… the lack of information on Solomons life after slavery does this film some harm. Worse, some of the actors are just too Hollywood for the films own good (mostly Brad Pitt). However, thats all I can really criticize. The film is probably the most important film youll see all year. Its not easy to watch but I really think everyone should give it a chance. 9/10
