Twenty-seven years ago I went to the dentist and had a tooth pulled. The dentist broke it into about ten pieces getting it out. Meanwhile, my cousin Lewis needed to go to the collage library. His girlfriend was busy, I guess, so he brought her sister along for company on the hour-long round trip. She brought a Diet Coke into the library and that got them kicked out. She had to use the facilities, so he brought her to my house. I greeted her with a mouthful of bloody cotton. Two or three days later on March fourth, we had our first date. Three years later to the day of that first date we got married. Twenty-four wonderful years. I love you, Laurel!
