Twenty years ago, those who were well versed in true black history(the history that happened BEFORE slavery) were outcasts in the black community, and criticized for always being on that pro-black stuff. The movement was small, sincere, and made up of dedicated brothers and sisters, who gave of themselves to help the truth be made known. There were no social media platforms for people to beat their chest on in status updates, while showing off their knowledge, and no Google, so anything learned had to be done through reading books, and serious study. Today, it has become fashionable to be conscious, and pro-black. The black consiousness movement, just like true hip hop, has been taken away from its original intended path, bastardized, and turned into something totally unlike what it was supposed to be. That is why those who have been on the path for decades are slowly backing away. Our purity has been lost to hype and likes on Facebook.....
