That’s right, Twitchy said. The spiteful and vindictive President Stompy Foot strikes again. Installing new government shutdown barricades at World War II Memorial, tweeted FoxDCs Dave Rysack, who issued a picture of the barricades being reinstalled. For some, like the Twitchy staff, the move was simply childish. Could the president’s childish feet stomp any harder? the Twitchy staff asked. For others, it was seen as a slap in the face to the veterans whose actions the memorials are intended to commemorate. Obama keeps slapping veterans in the face, tweeted Jerome Fox. Definitely an essential expense, added Zachary Hanover. Another Twitter user minced no words calling Obama a vindictive SOB. Others expressed their outrage with what they saw as Obamas waste of taxpayer money. No money for kids with cancer, but lots of money to punish Conservatives, tweeted Listkeeper. More secure than our borders, added Sean. Since the partial government shutdown began two weeks ago, the Obama administration has done what it could to inflict pain on Americans as a means of pressuring Republicans to cave into its demands. On Friday, Jonah Goldberg of the National Review Online wrote that Obama admitted targeting Americans in order to score political points against Republicans. What you’ve seen are bills that come up wherever Republicans are feeling political pressure, they put a bill forward. And if there’s no political heat, if there’s no television story on it, then nothing happens,” Obama told CBS Mark Knoller when asked if he was temped to sign the piecemeal spending bills put forward by Republicans. Obama’s answer dragged on, as all of Obama’s answers do, Goldberg wrote. But the point was made. For the first time in American history, a president confessed to deliberately hurting his country to score points against his enemies. Obamas actions after Sundays massive protest would seem to confirm Goldbergs assertion. Related:
