Twitter Discussion in Progress - Kathleen Wells ( Counterpunch), Palestine Video & me Palestine Video : #Video Silwad protesters confront Israeli occupation forces raiding the town youtu.be/DfBh6jM12sM #Palestinian Kathleen Wells: Rocks vesus guns/bullets. What good? Palestine Video: Rocks/stones are only symbolic in nature: rejecting oppression, occupation and colonialism, not meant otherwise Lisa Guliani: All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. ~ Animal Farm, Orwell Kathleen Wells :Video I understand. Nonetheless, we need more than symbolism, yes? Palestine Video: I absolutely agree, but welcome all forms of resistance available, whether symbolic or otherwise. Intl law gives us that much Kathleen Wells : Thats international law, however, as I written in my recent article for Counterpunch, law only applies to some. Lisa Guliani : What good is Int. law if nobodys going to enforce it? Politcal theater for benefit of public consumption? Palestine Video : I believe that whether intl law is enforced or not, it nonetheless affirms our rights and shouldnt b abandoned Kathleen Wells:Yep. I dont think it should be abandoned, either. Lisa Guliani :I dont want it to be abandoned. I want it to be enforced to the maximum extent of the law. Lisa Guliani: Because it seems to me that theres no compelling authority to enforce it. Lisa Guliani: I called IAEA asking why they dont inspect Israels nuke facilities. UN Sec. Council govs.+Israel =certain agreements. Kathleen Wells :There are those in the US trying to make change -- hear the speeches at the Summit: natsummit.org/program.htm Lisa Guliani : Yes, Ive heard them. Listened already and shared it. I know some of those peeps. Great courageous people. Palestine Video: I say all ethnic & race groups, experience with varying degrees a form of discrimination that keeps a small minority dominant and profitable Lisa Guliani: yessirree. Palestine Video: At the end of the day, its all for profit, anyway you look at it Lisa Guliani: Profit and control. Kathleen Wells: Blacks in the US experience the same thing: no one enforces the law.
