Two Major Announcements regarding Road Criteriums #1 - If it is raining or looks to rain on the evening of a Criterium the race will be cancelled. This call will be made at 4:30 and will be posted on the both PGCC Facebook sites as well as a note on the PGCC Website under Member News. This protocol is all about the PGCC putting on the safest events possible. Rain cancellations will only happen for Criteriums, Road Races and Time Trials would still continue if it is raining or the roads are wet. #2 - Success brings about change. Due to the larger number of participants we are moving away from a points race Criterium with intermediate sprints to a time based Criterium with no intermediate sprints. This will minimize the number of sprint situations which will therefore lead to a safer evening of racing. The new format is the standard followed at most clubs. Men – 45 min + 3 laps Women – 30 min + 3 laps
