Two NYPD Officers Killed in Brooklyn Ambush Shooting By Keegan Hamilton December 20, 2014 | 5:00 pm A police source told VICE News the suspected shooter committed suicide inside the nearby Myrtle Avenue subway station after fleeing the scene. The source said the suspect ran down the subway and shot himself. The officers were taken to Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn, but died as a result of their wounds. A police source told VICE News that the officers were both shot execution-style in the head. Citing their own police sources, the New York Daily News reported that the ambush shooting took place outside of the Tompkins Houses, near Myrtle and Tompkins Avenues in Bedford-Stuyvesant at about 3pm Saturday. The perp came out of the houses, walked up behind the car and lit them up, a police source reportedly told the local paper. The New York Post reported that both officers were working overtime as part of an anti-terrorism drill when they were shot point-blank by a single gunman.
