Two Of Oklahoma’s Finest On Track For Classic Tilt Two of Oklahoma’s finest Sprintcar exports have both signaled their intentions to be at the 43rd Lucas Oil Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic with both men determined on greeting the chequered flag when it falls on the 40 lap Classic final! Despite there being a gulf in experience between both Daryn Pittman and Christopher Bell, both have amazing respect for each other, with Pittman in particular all to aware of the talent that Bell possesses. Despite being just 19 years of age, it was Bell who led home Pittman and multi time World of Outlaws Champion Donny Schatz to claim his maiden Outlaws at Jacksonville Speedway. Aside from his first Outlaws triumph Bell has capped off an amazing 2014 by recording 26 feature race victories, with probably the most amazing statistic being that these wins came amidst a season that consisted of a number of racing disciplines. Bell competed in Midgets (Speedcars) in events such as the famed Chilli Bowl where he ran third behind Bryan Clauson and Kevin Swindell, 410 Winged Sprints, 360 Winged Sprints, Silver Crown, 410 Non Wing Sprints as well as Ashphalt Late Model Racing. Bell, who will be driving for the ultra professional Consol Racing Team with the support of Construction Solutions, Kaeding Performance, KRE Race Engines and Elf Fuels, is undoubtedly excited about the prospect of joining Australia and some of the World’s best Sprintcar drivers at the 2015 Lucas Oil Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic. “Its awesome to be able to race in Australia during our off time, and Im really looking forward to running in the Classic for the first time. Its a very prestigious event that attracts the best in the world in sprint car racing”, Bell said. “Jerry Russell, my crew chief thats going to be coming over with me to run these races, introduced me to Glenno (Brent Inglis) at Knoxville this year. Glenno and I stayed in touch and he introduced me to Gavin Rawlings and Michael Gee when he found out they were interested in running these events. Im really thankful for the opportunity to travel to Australia and be able to compete for such a great amount of prize money”, he added. “I was fortunate enough last year to get to travel overseas to New Zealand and Australia to run midget cars and really enjoyed it. Im looking forward to going sprint car racing in Australia this time around, its awesome to be able to race in front of a different fan base”, Bell concluded. Pittman on the other hand needs no introduction to Australian Race Fans with the popular 2013 World of Outlaws Champion again headed Down Under for a hit run mission that includes yet another appearance at the 43rd Lucas Oil Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic. Like Bell, Pittman enjoyed a successful 2014 American racing season which began with an outstanding run at the Chilli Bowl where amongst the 250 entries he was able to qualify for the A-Main finally settling for a very respectable 7th place finish. His World of Outlaws season running for Kasey Kahne Racing was again a picture of consistency. The numbers don’t lie with Pittman recording 14 World of Outlaws Feature Race wins and 50 top five finishes en-route to a runner up result in the overall points standings to eventual winner Donny Schatz. The 36 year old also was a direct beneficiary of the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic being a qualifier for the Speed Sport News World Challenge event as held at Knoxville each August, as he walked away with the win and the cool sum of $10,000.00 for his efforts. For his visit to the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic Pittman will again be aboard the USA9 Sprintshack, Eveready Technologies, Logical Property Solutions entry as supported by the Queensland based Aprile Racing outfit. Joining Pittman in the two car Aprile Racing assault on the Classic will be the NQ42 of Brent Aprile who will return to the Classic having recorded a 10th place finish in C-Main 2 of last seasons event. With the experience of Brent ‘Glenno’ Inglis in their corner Brent is sure to be one of the drivers to watch as a big improver come Classic time. He will again have great support from Sprintshack, Healthpoint Chemist Group, Eveready Technologies and East Coast Logistics. Another Bell has also joined the ever growing list of nominations with Warrnambool’s very own Stephen Bell set to make a return to Classic competition. Bell will be campaigning the ACT55 car for Adrian Flint and his Gippsland Motorsport operation. The team will come to the Classic, sound in the knowledge that Bell’s vast experience will hold them in good stead along with the support of William Adams Cat, John Duff and Co Shell, DP Swampy Earthmoving, Jettco and Crib Civil. Teams intending on competing are urged to get their entries in at their earliest convenience to allow for the seeding of nights and pit allocation to take place as soon as possible. The 43rd Lucas Oil Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic as supported by Oval Express Magazine, GJ Gardner Homes, KRE Race Engines and the Lady Bay Resort Warrnambool will be held at Premier Speedway on January 23, 24 & 25, 2015.
