Two Peanut Allergy Alerts to report related to the recent cumin spice recalls. Please note: FARE has been in contact with the FDA regarding these recalls, and they have indicated that the root cause of the cumin that tested positive for containing peanut proteins is still unknown at this time. The cumin that initiated these recalls came from a foreign (overseas) source, and recalls are being released voluntarily by suppliers and manufacturers who believe their products could have been affected. If you or someone you know does experience a reaction you believe to be related, you can report it to the FDA Consumer Complaint Center in your area using the following contact information: fda.gov/Safety/ReportaProblem/ConsumerComplaintCoordinators/default.htm Peanut Allergy Alert: Franklin Farms Franklin Farms is issuing a voluntary recall of certain code dates of Chili-Bean Veggiburgers. Though testing has shown no detectable levels of peanut in the products, Franklin Farms has issued a voluntary recall of these products as a precaution. These products were distributed in the states of CT, FL, ME, MD, MA, NJ, NY, and PA and sold through both retail stores and through foodservice channels. Peanut Allergy Alert: Garden Lites Garden Lites®, The Delicious Vegetable Company™ owned and operated by Classic Cooking LLC, is issuing a voluntary recall of several products due to the fact that they contain undeclared peanuts.
