Two anniversaries coming up soon: October 30 is the 75th anniversary of Orson Welles War of the Worlds radio broadcast, in which Welles inadvertently convinced as many as 2 million listeners that Earth was being invaded by Martians. November 19 is a more down-to-earth anniversary. Its the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincolns Gettysburg Address, in which he succinctly honored those who had died for their country and clearly defined the purpose of the Civil War.
