Two beautiful vacation destinations are up for auction to raise funds for two worthy causes. These vacation opportunities have been donated to the RMHA to raise funds for the RMHA Diversity Study Fund and the RMHA Youth Foundation Fund. The first opportunity is a Wyndham timeshare at Governors Crossing in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee from November 29th to December 2nd, 2014. The second opportunity is a Wyndham timeshare at the Majestic Sun in Destin, Florida from December 13th to December 16th, 2014. The RMHA Diversity Fund will provide support for a heterozygosity study which will cost approximately $2,000. The RMHA Genetic Committee is recommending this study be completed to characterize the status of the genetic diversity of the entire Rocky Mountain Horse population. Findings will be compared to a previous study completed 7 years ago and will be used to educate members about the effects of current breeding practices. The RMHA Youth Foundation Fund will provide support for programs involving and benefiting RMHA Youth.
