Two bits of info Id like to share with you from discussions after tonights school board meeting. #1 Regarding the Will Rogers sign blocking the view of drivers: The sign is within all legal requirements and is properly permitted by the City. Some of your board members are hearing your concerns about the sign and have taken them to heart. They have driven the road and experienced the blind spot for themselves. They have brought their concerns to staff, who have also been on site and understand the safety concern. Asst Supt Terry McCarty is meeting with the construction company to discuss options with the sign. It is my hope we get this resolved sooner rather than later since it is a serious safety concern. #2 Regarding the unusable restrooms at the high school: You may recall that during the Town Hall Meeting, Dr. Caine said the restroom WILL be made usable to help with the problem of having too few restrooms for next years increased population there. Tonight I asked Terry McCarty if there has been any progress on those repairs. He reaffirmed Dr Caines statement that the bathrooms will be fixed. He said they have had engineers look at it (the problems primarily involve plumbing) and they are looking at options on how to do it. Id like to thank you for contacting the Board members about these concerns. Open dialog is the best way to bring about meaningful change. About the Will Rogers sign, they made it clear tonight that they are listening to you. Keep up the good work!!!!
