Two burglary suspects are in custody after someone reported suspicious activity. Just after 1am Monday, Pittsburg Police were called about a burglary in progress on East 7th Street. Police missed the burglars, and two shotguns and electronic equipment had been stolen. Minutes later, other officers responded to a home on East 9th to a second witness regarding a vehicle circling the block. That was the same pickup truck the first caller spotted. Police searched the truck and found the two stolen shotguns. 44-year-old Richard Nichols of Pittsburg and 39-year-old Terry Jessip of Frontenac were arrested for burglary, theft and criminal damage to property. Theyre in the Crawford County Jail on $5000 bond each.
