Two charged over alleged stabbings – Leeton: Two people have been charged over two alleged stabbings at Leeton. Just before 4pm yesterday (Tuesday 10 June 2014), an altercation occurred between two men in Montana Place. It’s alleged one of the men was stabbed in the back during the fight. Emergency services were called and the 33-year-old was taken to Wagga Base Hospital in a serious condition. Following this incident a further altercation occurred which resulted in the other man being stabbed by a woman. This 29-year-old was also taken to Wagga Base Hospital for treatment. Police from Griffith Local Area Command attended and arrested a 51-year-old woman. She was taken to Leeton Police Station where she was charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and bail refused to appear at Griffith Local Court today (Wednesday 11 June 2014). The 29-year-old man was arrested after being released from hospital and was also charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He is expected to appear before Wagga Local Court later today.
