Two days before the 20th anniversary of Melissa Missy Fernandes - TopicsExpress

Two days before the 20th anniversary of Melissa Missy Fernandes death, her murderer will face a judge and ask to be released for time served. Brian Ronquillo was sentenced to 53 years in prison for the drive-by shooting of 16-year-old Missy. He has served a fraction of that time and as members of Missys family, we fear his release. He has a life, sure its in prison, but my daughter is gone. Nothing will bring her back and he needs to serve his time for taking her from the world. Its horrible. Hes asking to be released on the weekend of her anniversary. Its like hes doing it all over again and Im afraid if he gets out, he will be a repeat offender. We need to keep him in jail to protect the rest of society, Missys mother and my aunt, Tammy Fernandes said. Family, friends, and anyone else interested in the case, are invited to join the family at 1 p.m. Friday, March 21 at the Seattle King County Courthouse, 516 3rd Avenue, room 960 as we show the judge our opposition to Ronquillos request. Our prayers go out to the Ronquillo family, Tammy said. I know its hard for them. I feel bad for them. But I dont feel bad for him. He killed my daughter and should remain in prison. Ill be there Friday afternoon and it would be great if everyone else showed up to show our support during this very difficult time. If you cant make it, please pray that all goes according to Gods will. Thank you for reading.
