Two days left to REGISTER FOR Card Weaving June 7, Saturday, 1:30pm to 4pm Ages: 14 + Class Fee: $30 Materials Fee: $10 (includes pre-warped cards, weft and instructions); $5 for participants with own cards Registration Closing Date: May 27 Class Limit: 10; Class Minimum: 4 Card weaving is an ancient weaving method using a set of flat cards and some yarn. The square cards have holes in the 4 corners to act as heddle eyes to hold the warp yarns so that weft yarn may be woven across to create warp-faced fabric. After making a continuous warp using 2 or 4 colors and selecting the direction of the threading of the cards, each weaver will be guided to create patterns unique to his (her) own chosen warp. Color placement, re-arrangement of cards, tubular weaving and double weave are a few of the variations to be explored. This simple, portable method of weaving is easily learned but with the various techniques can be a challenge for all weaving levels. Prerequisite: None Instructor: Bette McCarron
