Two different articles from The Times of India. Please go through both the articles here. You will clearly understand India’s dereliction of duty towards the ‘different looking’ Indians. LUCKNOW: The police on Sunday traced the seven buffaloes which were stolen from the farmhouse of senior minister Azam Khan in Rampur. This, however, could not save the three local policemen who were on night patrol when the incident took place. They were stripped of their post and sent back to the police lines. A harsher punishment is expected after a probe in the days to come. The stolen buffaloes were recovered following a night-long operation where five police teams raided dozens of diaries, slaughter houses and meat factories in and around Rampur. Ten people have been detained in connection with the theft. SP Rampur Sadhna Goswami, along with ASP Devesh Pandey and DSP Aley Hasan, headed separate teams that included cops from six police stations and investigators from the district polices crime cell as well. The cops went through hours of CCTV footage at the meat factories to verify the entry of livestock into the premises. Three of the missing buffaloes were traced in Ganj police circle, two each were traced to Swal and Shehzadnagar police circles of Rampur city. SP Rampur confirmed the recovery of the buffaloes but refused to divulge more details. By evening five were identified as ones that were stolen while the cops were unsure about the remaining two. The person who looked after animals can identify, said a police officer. NEW DELHI: No arrests were made until Sunday in the alleged murder of 19-year-old Arunachali student, Nido Tania. Police reasoned that they were waiting for medical reports before taking further action and speaking to Nidos family to piece together the sequence of events; but all across the city, there were protests over the alleged racial hate crime. BJP leaders Harsh Vardhan and Vijay Goel gathered at Rajghat in the morning with their supporters and demanded action against the culprits. District-level helplines are needed for northeastern students. Authorities need to be sensitized to react quickly to complaints and take preventive steps to check harassment of people from the northeast, especially students, said Goel. Elsewhere at Jantar Mantar, a candlelight vigil was held. We want the case to be taken up with utmost priority and the culprits punished as soon as possible, said Tagam, former president of the Northeast Students Association. Protesters also demanded strong law against discrimination of students from the northeast, and said they would submit a memorandum to the government in this regard. There were two more protests: one at Samta Sthal and another in JNU.
