Two emergency services vehicles were involved in a collision on Sunday evening (Sunday July 27) after being called to two separate incidents. A police car and an East Midlands Ambulance Service fast response vehicle were both on their way to the incidents when they were involved in a collision with each other at about 11.10pm yesterday evening. The collision occurred on Derby Road, Loughborough and resulted in two police officers, a man and woman, and a paramedic, a man, being treated in hospital for minor injuries. Sergeant 717 David Stokes of the road policing unit, said: “Both vehicles were responding to two separate grade 1 emergency calls when the collision occurred, fortunately the occupants of both vehicles were not seriously injured. Other resources were subsequently diverted to the incidents that both vehicles were responding to. “An investigation is now underway into the circumstances surrounding the collision so it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage. If you witnessed the collision or have any information about the incident please contact the police on 101.”
