Two information events you may be interested in if you want to teach internationally in Japan or the United Kingdom: On October 7th at 3PM, the JET programme will be having an info session. The JET programme sends students on a 1-year contract to work in the Japanese public school system as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) alongside Japanese teachers of English. A great opportunity to gain valuable overseas work experience, learn about Japanese culture, and meet people from around the world, while contributing to language education and international understanding. 3:00-4:30 in ECS (Engineering/Computer Science) 104 On the same day, from 4-5:30, Engage Education will be presenting about teaching in England, including differences in curriculum and options for pursuing a career in Education in the UK. This in-person visit enables student teachers to meet and speak with the Engage Education consultant who will act as their main point of contact, should they want to register with us or simply obtain more information prior to making an informed decision about living and teaching in the UK. They are even offering free pizza, and will also be coming to the fair on October 18th! 4:00-5:30 MAC D110 These are organized by UVic Co-op and Career, and not by EdSA.
