Two is one, and one is none No this isnt some ancient mathematically based chinese proverb. Its a lesson in redundancy. Anything thats critical to mission accomplishment, needs to have a back-up. Invariably your primary go to solution will fail at the worst possible time, and the transition to #2 will make all the difference. This goes for gunfighters, boxers and jiujiteiros alike. Have a second PRIMARY (unless your pistol skills are excellent out to 300M). Have a follow up plan in the chamber for that failed shot or missed armbar attempt. Train to switch leads should your power hand become broken, and your only option is a beating, a loss (or probably both). If you NEED a radio or other comms for the mission, then better bring TWO...since we must assume that primary will go down, as they like to do. In keeping with the redundant theme of this post.
