Two justices of appeal (Hon. Engela Kileo and Natalia Kimaro) were recently asked to recuse themselves from a full bench panel on account of tribal and racial allegations in a case between Jeetu Patel versus Reginald Mengi and AG. The gist of the allegations was firstly, that the two justices were of the same chagga community with Mr Mengi and there is likelhood they meet together during parties, burial and other tribal ceremonies and interact directly or through friends and intermediaries. Secondly, the judges esp Hon. Kileo who despite her seniority is known to be extremely biased and harsh towards memberz of Asian Community who have appeared before her. She is said to have in her an embeded negative attitude to asians. (Source: pg 2 of Daily News of 03.04.2014).
