Two kids, ages 10 and 6, are allowed by their parents to walk a mile to their home without supervision. This leads to Child Protective Services getting involved and basically calling that action neglect. Is it? Do you know what the laws in your jurisdiction say about such things? Many if not most consider it an abuse of power to be able to control parenting to that degree. I know that lots of people are concerned with instances where police officers are abusing power these days, but really... I think Im more concerned about this type of abuse of power: Do what we say on arguable matters, or we will take your kids and/or never take you off our watchlist. Scary.
