Two lady managers at the counter, one filtering black beans near the expresso machine, while the other cuts the cheesecake into neat slices. A lime green T-Shirt with black trousers and polished shoes and a friendly cap with the brand logo and the workers at Costa Coffee, are ready. They greet you with friendly smiles and cheery dispositions. Just as I was burning the optimistic point into my head, of being in a coffee outlet which exclusively inducts women into their workforce, I am greeted by a plump and cheery gentleman who brings in my Tortilla and Can of Soda. He smiles all throughout as he wipes the table clean and gestures at my order indicative of its receipt. I ask him for a pair of fork and knife, to which he nods similingly and instantly I understand that this gentleman cannot speak auditorily challenged. I instantly motion to him of what I needed while he went in a jiffy and brought my requirements. As I observed him around, he was cheerfully and diligently without a pause, busy at tables cleaning them and bringing in order trays laden with food and drinks. Every one at the coffe house seem enthusiastic and busy at their work. Business is undebatedly about profits and losses but the spirit of humanity and inclusive growth and progress should be celebrated and practiced in every facet of life. Women and physically challenged people have been deprieved of employment rights and job oppurtunities inspite of their abilities and this outlet has indeed set a good example for an inclusive, sustainable growth strategy for everyone to follow.
