Two men, both seriously sick occupied the same hospital room. One had his bed by the only window in the room. The men talked for hours everyday -about their wives, children, jobs vacations -everything. Every afternoon, for one hour, the man by the window will sit up and describe to his roommate what was going on outside. The other man naturally began to live for those one hour periods everyday. He told him that the window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swams played on the water, while children played on the sun. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every colour. As he gave vivid description, the other man closed his eyes and imagined the scene. Days and weeks passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their bath, only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peaceful in his sleep. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked to be moved to the bed near the window. Slowly, painfully, he proped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside -HE LOOKED. There was no view. The window faced a BLANK WALL. The confused man asked The nurse why his dead roommate described such wonderful things outside the window when there was only a WALL. The nurse answered that the dead man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said perhaps he his just wanted to encourage you. There is tremendous happiness in making others happy despite our own situation. Shared grief is half the sorrow, BUT happiness when shared is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money cannot buy. Today is a gift thats why its called PRESENT
