Two minutes into the opening game of the 1995-96 season Travis Roy - TopicsExpress

Two minutes into the opening game of the 1995-96 season Travis Roy finally got the tap on the shoulder he had been waiting for, he was in the game. Roy stepped onto the ice as a 20-year-old freshman for reigning NCAA Champions Boston University. With his team leading 1-0, Roy was chasing down a puck when he crashed into the boards and cracked his fourth vertebra, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down. He has managed to regain the use of his right arm, allowing him to use a motorized wheelchair but no other function has returned since. Rather than feel sorry for himself, he established the Travis Roy foundation that has helped countless other quadriplegics get their lives back on track. youtube/watch?v=cZ7jUwV1_80
