Two nights now, two nights I have slept in my own bed and dreams - TopicsExpress

Two nights now, two nights I have slept in my own bed and dreams about northern New Mexico cling to me like the dusty rainbow of a desert sunset transformed into flowing winds of sagebrush and dry earth. Gently enveloping, holding on loosely but lovingly like the embrace of a Grandmother who knows you have places to go and people to see but is happy to hold you just the same. Not trying to force, not trying to capture or keep. Again the dreams come. Again a deep longing to answer the call and just go, yet a mutual understanding that the day is coming but it is not time. Not yet. Why does that land only call to me when I am alone, why does it whisper to me like soft, lovers pillow talk or a sleepy eyed child asking to sleep in bed with its mother? Something about that land...it knows how to seduce a dreamer from afar, to woo a woman with gentle enchantments, it knows how to play the long game.
