Two of the kindest people I ever met were E.P. And Molly Martinez. They were an older couple that lived in Canyon by Saliz pass between Reserve and Glenwood New Mexico. We used to take our hounds and try to keep the raccoons ran from their corn patch. Molly always had cocoa and cookies for my kids. My son helped the local water well man, when he worked on various wells in Catron County. They were to work on a well in the Canyon one morning and go work on another at Apache Creek that afternoon. They were gone a while and my son came home. I could tell something was bad wrong. I started asking questions and he would not answer. He then broke down and cried. He and Jess had found Mr. And Mrs. Martinez murdered. The crime investigators were coming from Santa Fe. I set with that broken hearted teenager that day waiting to hear something. The murders were never solved. It has been over 25 years. Who ever you were, you will be judged someday. You killed two sweet old people and destroyed the peace of mind and tranquility of that small community. Your after life can not be hot enough.
