Two old pictures of Saftlers and one relatively recent. The one on the right has the showroom front right, in an old barn which was torn down. The big house was actually where my grandparents and the family lived. This house was moved in the mid-1950s about 1/4 mile down Auburn Street and, as far as I know, still stands. In the middle (with the car in front) is the base section of what became Saftlers from the 1940s forward. Additions were made to the building, and the second floor became living quarters where my parents lived when they got married in 1947, eventually becoming my grandparents apartment, where they stayed whenever they were in town after they retired. The color picture on the right was taken in 2011 by someone who was visiting the area, and has been gracious enough to let me use the picture from time to time. This is how it looked when it was knocked down late in 2011.
