Two riders on the podium and first place in the team ranking – an impressive record for the BMC Mountainbike Racing Team at the World Cup in Windham (NY), USA Julien Absalon fought again a hard and dusty battle against Swiss Champion Nino Schurter in the Catskill Mountains. In the end, Julien was 2nd – only 6 seconds away from his 30th World Cup victory. Lukas Flückiger put up a serious fight against Daniel McConnel for the 3rd spot. He made sure the podium in Windham wasnt just a copy-paste from Mont-Saint-Anne. Even World champion Schurter was quite impressed how Flückiger stormed down the six minute descent in ‘kamikaze mode’ on his full suspenstion bike fourstroke FS01. The showdown for the overall world cup win will take place in two weeks in Méribel in front of Julien Absalon’s home crowd. (© Armin M. Küstenbrück)
