Two rights cant make a wrong ! For the past two days, there has been claims and counter claims regarding the behaviors allegedly displayed by some aggrieved Lofains during president sirleaf recent visit to Lofa County In one of the clips that I viewed, the president described the action of the protestors as Arrogant, rude, disorderly and too political .. These are some of the questions and analysis that came to my mind when I watched the clip and listened to diverse sources 1. Did the protestors use profanities? Yes..I condemned the use of profanity but profanity is normal for Africans demonstrations # 2. Disorderly conduct Did the protestors create road blocks? Did the protestors burn tires? Did the protesters throw stones? Did the protestors attack security officers ? From up to date account; non of the above actions were displayed ...therefore, the president didnt use Disorderly Conduct in the right context # 3 .Too political The president knew the purpose of the assembly before she stopped; she also read slogans on the posters ..When group of people hold posters bearing signs like : we need our land back Dont sell our land for peanuts, that should immediately tell you that such group is seeking some redress politically Since the president chose to stop and talk to aggrieved protesters; there was no reason to question the political motive behind such gathering #4. Was the man presenting the position statement arrogant or the arrogance was displayed by the bystanders ? If the arrogance was displayed by the bystanders and the scene was not dangerous to the safety of the president ; she should have listen to the leader of the group If the scene was noisy to the extend where the president couldnt understand the leader of the group; the president should have requested copy of the position statement before leaving the scene Traditional leadership is difference from political leadership !!!
