Two shot, one dead in shooting at Fogertown Brian Griffin, 28, of Manchester, passed away Thursday morning at St. Joseph Hospital in London as a result of a gunshot wound he sustained while turkey hunting in the Fogertown area of Clay County. Jason Roberts, 21, also of Manchester, was with Griffin when he too was shot in the same incident. Roberts was later airlifted from the scene. The two men, along with their hunting buddy Chad Bullock, were turkey hunting in a group when an unknown man, according to Clay County Sheriff Kevin Johnson, shot Griffin and Roberts. According to a source, the two men were hit by a single shotgun blast that came from the ridge above them. After the shot, the assailant fled back over the mountain on foot and disappeared. Other details are very sketchy as of press time, Kentucky State Police, Clay County Sheriff’s Department and the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officials continue to investigate in the woods near where the accident occurred to find the shooter. The Fogertown Fire Department assisted officers at the scene of the shooting. Look for a complete story in the next edition of The Manchester Enterprise.
