Two souls at peace… From the shelter which could only provide food. No clean kennels, little protection from the elements, small amounts of social interaction, to rescue. However two very special girls were together in this scary place. This shelter was being evacuated. Rescues needed to step up and accept dogs, or the dogs would never know what a real home was like. They would have died not knowing just how great life could be. These are two very different girls. Nuelle is very afraid of people and life and Prancer is very social and inquisitive. Hoof Woof Meow has found that in spite the difference in temperament, the bond is inspiring. Due to limited space in the transport truck, Hoof, Woof Meow could only take one of the two girls at the time. We chose to take Nuelle, who was so afraid she would hide. We were afraid that no rescue would save this older and very afraid girl, who may never have known what a good home could be. But we made a promise to come back for Prancer. We did, one week later Prancer came up to us on a transport. Nuelle was so afraid of humans; she will not eat in front of them and hide in her crate. Prancer, who came up a week later, howled in grief and paced in her foster home. And then something magical happened. They were reunited. Nuelle takes great comfort in her special friend. She will now eat in front of people and is slowly beginning to gain confidence. Prancer no longer howls in grief or paces. As you see, they find peace in each other. The journey is just beginning; Prancer and Nuelle have Heartworm. Our hope once these girls are healthy in mind and spirit, that they find a special home together.
