Two stories in the news in recent days about babies left to die in hot cars by distracted parents who are supposed to be dropping their child at daycare and instead forget the kid is even in the car and go to work instead. Shouldnt there be some sort of law that day care centers MUST contact the parents if the child doesnt come in as expected?? And cant someone create some sort of carseat monitor that would BEEP if the engine is turned off while the child is in the seat (as it does when you leave the headlights on)? And shouldnt the usual transporting parent check in with the substitute as a matter of course? What is WRONG with people?!?!?
