Two strange things: first, only one crime of state in - TopicsExpress

Two strange things: first, only one crime of state in twenty-first-century Washington has been considered jail-worthy -- and that’s leaking information that might put those in the national security state in a bad light or simply let the American public know something more about what its government is really doing; second, I’m not sure that anyone has put a genuine rundown of the crimes of the national security state and its denizens together in one place in recent years. Today, I do so, considering seven key areas of criminal activity for which we are all but guaranteed that no one will be held accountable: kidnapping, torture, the destruction of evidence of a crime, the planning of an extralegal prison system, killing detainees in that system, assassination, and perjury before Congress. The list could go on, but I think you’ll find this version both stunning in its own way and never fully put together before. Anyway, do check it out! Tom tomdispatch/blog/175833/
